Thomas "Tom" Schussler Galloway, 65, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Friday, March 31, 2023. He was born July 28, 1957, to Lawrence and Jacqueline Galloway in New Bern, North Carolina.
Tom grew up in Baltimore, Maryland before moving to the Midwest with his family. He attended schools in Peoria, Illinois and Sioux City, Iowa before graduating from the University of Tulsa in 1979, majoring in Broadcasting and Journalism. He then made his home in Springfield, Missouri.
Tom always loved his music. He taught himself to play guitar and was successful tennis player where he played at the University of Tulsa. Carrying on the family height at 6"8", he was known by his friends as "Stretch". He had a great sense of humor and was a very successful salesman; it was said he could sell ice to an Eskimo! He was most known for his deep love of his son, Gibson, his guitar and music.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and siblings— Bo and Judy. He is survived by his son, Gibson Galloway; sisters—Ann, Ellen, Susan, Jane, sister-in-law, Peggy Galloway, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A family commemoration service of Tom's life will be held in August at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
