Janice Ruth (Bender) Christie, 82, of Willard, Mo., formerly of Decatur, died Thursday, March 16, in Citizens Memorial Health Care Facility, Bolivar, Mo.

Services will be April 14 at 10:00am at North Fork Cemetery. Pastor Mitch Flesch will officiate. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery, Decatur.

Janice was born Dec. 21, 1941, in Decatur, the daughter of Robert and Virginia Bender. She married Harold "Dutch" Christie on Nov. 15, 1960. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 2016.

She was a former beautician and beauty shop owner. Janice and Dutch were also active members of the former Calvary Baptist Church, Decatur. When Janice moved to Missouri, she became of member of Center Baptist Church, Ash Grove, Mo.

Janice loved the Lord and shared His message through a daily text message ministry. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years.

She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Harold Robert and Theresa Christie of Walnut Grove, Mo. Sister, Jackie Bender of Willard, Mo. Grandchildren, Rachel Cox of Farmer City, IL; Samantha DuRietz of Benton, IL; Amanda Hicks of Marshfield, MO and Gordon Christie of Louisville, KY. Great-grandchildren, Jasmine Smith, Virginia Christie, Chloe Christie, Dutch DuRietz, Duke DuRietz, Everly Cox; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and her brother, Robert "Bobby" Bender Jr.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
