Wilma Jean Joplin, née Raymer, Born May 21st, 1938, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Wilmer and Thelma Raymer. Wilma Jean was survived by two sisters, Eileen Raymer of Ellsinore MO and Barbra Raymer-Becherer of Hillsboro MO. 3 children, 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jean's love and strength will be cherished forever by her children: Paul (Monte) Joplin and his wife Lorri of Fair Grove MO, Dawn Erickson and her husband David of Red Wing MN, and Jon Joplin and his wife Elise of Chesterfield MO. She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who will dearly miss her.
Jean lived a life of service, honor, and dedication. She proudly served her country in the Missouri Air National Guard for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Her commitment to her family, community, and country was unwavering, and her legacy of strength and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her. Beyond her service, Jean found joy in creating heartfelt treasures for her family. She enjoyed crafting handmade gifts through crocheting and embroidery, coloring easter eggs with her grand kids, and creating special keepsakes for her loved ones. Holidays were especially meaningful, as she shared her love through baking and making special treats that her grandchildren always looked forward to.
A memorial service celebrating Jean's life will be held April 5th at 11:30 am at the Raymer Family Cemetery in Ellsinore, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a Veteran's organization of your choice, reflecting Jean's deep sense of service and patriotism.
Jean will be remembered for her enduring love, creative spirit, and the countless lives she touched. She will be dearly missed but forever held in our hearts.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
