William Mr. Bill Yates, 54, Aurora, MO, went home to rest with Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, February, 15, 2014. He was born October 19, 1959, in Olathe, KS, to Rolly and Joyce Yates. Bill was employed by Little Tykes and Monett Steele for many years. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved to be outdoors, camping, and fishing. He genuinely loved his family and spending time with them. Everyone who knew Bill knew he had a unique and caring heart. He always saw the good in everything even in the darkest times. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolly and Joyce; brothers, Ronnie, Jim, and Brian Yates; and nephew Trenton. Bill is survived by his children, Sarah Shank of Aurora, MO, Joshua Yates and wife Chasidi of Purdy, MO, Ashleigh Yates and partner Thadd of Tulsa, OK, and Meghan Yates of Aurora, MO; grandchildren, Connor, Chase (his 2 #1 fans), and Ella; and brothers, Gary Yates and wife Phyllis of Colcord, OK, and Timothy Yates of Aurora, MO. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield.
