During the early afternoon of August 6th, 2023, William Henry Bruno (Bill Bruno), passed away after an 8 year battle with cancer while being comforted by his son William Bruno, daughter-in-law Jessica Bruno and grandchildren. He was 82 years old.

Bill was born in 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to Anna Englehart and William Bruno. Bill joined the military as a teenager and served 20+ years earning his Green Beret and becoming part of the Special Forces. He served three tours in Vietnam earning many accolades including the Bronze Star, Silver Star and two Purple Hearts. After his service he gained his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri. Bill would end up marrying Peggy, to whom he would dedicate the rest of his life.  During Bill's free time he enjoyed fishing, traveling abroad with Peggy, watching his beloved Chiefs and spending time with his four adult children and 11 grandkids.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother Anna and father William Bruno, his brother Jimmy and his wife Peggy Bruno. Those who succeeded Bill are his sister Theresa and his son William Bruno.

Bill's services will be held at the Springfield Veteran Cemetery at a date still to be determined.
