Walter Erhardt (Fuchs) Fox was born on July 29, 1938 in Karlsruhe, Germany to Lt. Josef Dietlmeier & Rosa Fuchs. He passed away suddenly on December 9, 2020 in Springfield, MO. Walter grew up in Germany, then came to the United States with his mother and step-father, Master Sergeant Vernon Crabtree in January 1955 at the age of 16. After arriving in the US, they lived in Baltimore where his stepfather was stationed. Walter had finished his schooling in Germany but enrolled in school in the USA in order to learn English. He proudly became an American citizen on November 5, 1971 and changed his last name from Fuchs to Fox. He & his first wife, Beverly, had four children: Angelia, Tony, Hans & Cindy. Walter and his second wife Kathy and had two daughters, Camilla and Michelle. Later in life, Walter met Helen & they were companions for over 20 years. They enjoyed traveling, camping & riding their three-wheeler together. Walter was very fond of Helen and enjoyed her presence in his life.

He had two primary life-long hobbies: raising tropical fish & studying the Bible, which he was passionate about. He had a life-long love for animals and had an almost magical way with them. Most of his work career was spent as a truck driver, and in later years began installing satellites and solar panels. He enjoyed learning in general. He also enjoyed riding motorcycle, fishing, traveling, old movies, listening to swing & big band music, carp shooting with his bow & arrow, & target shooting. He had an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed traveling to see family. He landscaped water features to create habitats for his fish, loved plants and the outdoors in general. He was always outside. He also loved dancing, roller skating in his younger years and even won dancing competitions doing the jitter bug! He loved to help others and was sentimental. He saved every card, picture and item that family members sent to him, even printed off what was sent to him virtually.
