Virginia "Ginny" Wilma Wellong, 79, of Cape Fair, MO, passed into Heaven, Saturday, June 8, 2019, after battling cancer for several years. She was born October 22, 1939, in Camden, NJ, the daughter of Harry and Agnes Wright.

Ginny loved to dance. She was a member of the Dungaree Dolls for many years. Ginny was excellent at quilting and sewing. She enjoyed board games, especially Parcheesi, and playing Bingo every Thursday. Ginny had a fascination with pigs and collected all kinds. She loved the color purple, eating doughnuts and ice cream.

Ginny had a passion for life and fully appreciated that life was a gift. She cherished her relationships with family and friends and took time getting to know those around her. She would look forward to Saturday morning phone calls with her brother (they had been doing this for years) and spending as much time as she could with those that she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert Wellong.

Ginny is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Scott and Debbie Hager; step-daughters, Vickie Hager, Eva Hager and Sam Peterson; grandchildren, Veronique Hager, Chezere Hager, and Ashton Hines; great-granddaughter, BrendaLee Hines; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Diana Wright; and many special friends.

A celebration of Ginny's life will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 14, 2019, in the Edgewater Community Church, 202 Edgewater Village Drive, Cape Fair, MO 65624, with Pastor Ron Barrick officiating. Inurnment will be at 3 PM, Monday, June 17, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield.
