Virginia Lois Strickland died quietly on December 4, 2023, at the age of 81. Virginia was born in Jones, LA. She grew up and attended school in Bonita, LA. Virginia lived in Hector, AR for many years. She worked in the mayor's office and for the U.S. Forest Service. She was a member of the Hector Freewill Baptist Church. She had many friends and family in Hector. She was a resident of Springfield, MO when she died.

Virginia is survived by two daughters, Erika McKinley Strickland Rhodes, Springfield, MO, and Lara Alexandra Strickland May of Grand Cane, LA and husband Jamison May; three grandsons and three great grandchildren, Arik Rion Felkins, wife, Julie, and daughter Charlotte, of TX, Aron Kane Felkins, wife Katie, daughter Jenny and son Silas, of TX; and, Alek Seth Felkins and wife Taylor, of TX; one son in-law, Terry Hagan, of  AR; and one sister, Arnell Nightingale, of NV.

Virginia was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Hagan and one grandson, Jeffrey Hudson, both of AR; by her parents, James Hollis and Lela McCready of Bonita, LA; and by three sisters: Mary Spruill and Hazel Knight of Bastrop, LA and Jolene Roper of Hector, AR; and five brothers all of LA, Bert McCready, David McCready, Ralph McCready, Kenneth McCready, and Orvel Lee McCready; and by many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
