Virginia "Ginny" Pearl (Shepard) Smith-Meek, 69, of Republic, formerly of Osceola, MO, passed away January 27, 2021 at home. She was born July 22, 1951, in Kansas City, MO, to Archie and Athlene Shepard. She graduated from Osceola High School before managing retail shops.
Ginny loved God and going to church. She taught Sunday School at the Pearson Branch Church (later Living Word Church) and at Climax Assembly both in Climax Springs, MO, then at Cavalry Pentecostal Church in Beebe, AR, and most recently at Trinity Pentecostal Church, Springfield where she attended.
She owned D's Gas in Climax Springs and drove a school bus there as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earl Shepard; and sister, Tammy Elliott.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Dana Dake and husband Michael of Climax Springs, MO; grandchildren, Meagan Hogans and husband Gabe of Conway, AR, Jared Dake and Maddy Dake of Climax Springs, MO; and 1 great-grandson, Kaeden "Lil' Britches" Longoria; sister, Ernestine Peek of Clinton, MO; brother, Darrell Shepard of El Dorado Springs, MO; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and church friends that were her family. She will also be missed by her coffee drinking buddies.
A celebration of Ginny's life will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Trinity Pentecostal Church, 530 S Miller Ave, Springfield, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made directly to the family.
