Virginia Lee Fisher, 79, passed away early Friday morning, November 17, 2017. She was born September 6, 1938 in Sterling, KS, to Edgil & Mary Kirby. The family moved to Springfield in 1956 where she met and married Russell L. Fisher. Mr. Fisher at that time was enlisted in the U. S. Army. She traveled with him on his stateside deployments.

During her 61 years with Russell, she had 6 children. Finally the family settled in Springfield after Russell's retirement from the Army in 1969. She worked at the General Osteopathic Hospital from 1971 to her retirement in 1991.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her step-mother, and two sons, Kenneth and Kirby. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Russell; her sons, Rickie and Russell Jr; daughters, Dale Milam and Deborah Lassiter; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and one nephew.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, November 28, in the Sacred Heart Church, followed by a luncheon. Graveside services will follow at 1 PM, in the White Chapel Cemetery, Springfield.
