IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virgil
Holt
October 17, 1950 – July 31, 2022
Ronald Virgil Holt was born on October 17th, 1950 in Arnold, Nebraska to Virgil and Ula Holt. He married the love of his life in 1971. Virgil and Jeri followed the Lord's calling for their life and pursued a life in ministry. The Lord led them to work at a missionary training center in Missouri, where they started their family. In 1991 the Holts relocated to Chihuahua, Mexico. Together with their team, they established a missionary training program for Spanish speakers. His ministry and his heart for the Lord were evident to his family, his coworkers, his students, and anyone who called him friend. Even during his downtime he still managed to have a testimony and minister to his groups on ham radio. He also loved woodworking and, earlier in his life, beekeeping. He wasn't one to shy away from a serious conversation, but always had a good joke or story to bring a laugh no matter what the circumstance. His smile was infectious as was his passion for his Lord and Savior. Virgil retired in 2016 but continued to serve the Lord as an elder and occasionally preached at his church. A sinner saved by grace, he spent his life trying to glorify the Lord and spread the gospel.
On Sunday, July 31st Ronald Virgil Holt went to his heavenly home at 71 years old. He was a loving husband, beloved father and grandfather, and is missed beyond measure.
Virgil was preceded in death by his father Virgil, and his mother Ula. He is survived by his wife Jeri, his three children Shawn, Shellie and Gina, his grandchildren Atalie, Carly, Jackson and James, brothers Ray Holt and family, and Bill Holt and family both of Nebraska.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 20th, 2022 at the Bridge Church, 308 W Mount Vernon St, Nixa, MO at 2:00pm.
