IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victor
Peterson
August 31, 1948 – April 10, 2025
Victor "Vic" Manfred Peterson was born on August 31, 1948, in Chicago, IL to Victor and Evelyn Peterson. He passed away on April 10, 2025, in Springfield, MO.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents. Victor is survived by his siblings, June Owen, Linda Benwell, Paul, and John; his loving wife of 48 years, Sharon (Shockley); his daughter, Susette Cantway; son, Danny Santos; grandsons, Luke, George and Angel; great-grandson Lennox; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Vic and Sharon were married on July 17, 1976. They enjoyed over 48 happy years together and loved exploring creation together – they had a mutual love of lakes, the sea and horses.
Vic was a spiritual man who loved Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on February 24, 1974. That love moved him to devote many hours each month sharing his faith with others. He loved to share the hope of a better future, especially the hope found at Revelation 21: 3,4. Vic assisted in many Kingdom Hall construction and maintenance projects. He also visited friends in the local hospitals to share comfort and encouragement from the scriptures.
He loved to paint, and his many paintings revealed his love of creation. He also loved music and enjoyed playing his drums and clarinet. In his younger years, he often played for the friends. He had the privilege to play in the orchestra at a convention in the 1970s.
When asked to describe Vic in one word, most would say "happy". Vic was known for his cheerful disposition, which was often displayed by his big smile and joyful laugh. He was easy to be around and easy to love. He loved spending time with friends and family, whether it was sharing a meal together or watching football. Vic will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial will be held on May 10, 2025, at 1 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3430 S Fremont Ave, Springfield, MO 65804.
