Tim Elroy
Hankins
May 9, 1942 – June 16, 2022
Timothy "Tim" E. Hankins, 80, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Thursday, June 16, 2022. Tim departed this world after a yearlong battle with pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer and respiratory failure, in his home under hospice care.
Tim leaves his wife of 58 years, Patsy; daughter, Holly Kelley and husband Ira; sister, Wanda Hensler; sister, Patty Chambers and husband Ron; brother, David Hankins and wife Faye; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother and father, Irene and Glen "Pete" Hankins; and a son, Timothy Hankins.
He was born in Iowa, May 9, 1942. After high school, Tim joined the Army and served from 1959 until 1962. While serving he became a paratrooper and served in the "Special Forces."
Tim was very active in life, which included starting a skydiving school, bull riding, owning and flying his own airplane, trial and street motorcycle riding and becoming a 32° Scottish Rite Mason.
Tim's career included many years in the siding and window business until he retired. Then, he began a second career driving a semi, going back and forth to Kingman, AZ. His illnesses forced his total retirement after 1,250,000 miles.
Tim was proud to be a Christian and during his illness was able to share his faith with everyone he spoke with. He looked forward to going to his heavenly home!
Tim's services are being completed by Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, LLC in Springfield, MO with burial at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO at 10:00 am.
