Thomas Robert Steward, 87, of Springfield, MO, passed away March 13, 2021. He was born October 4, 1933, in Dyersburg, TN.
Tom started his military career in the Army but after a few months transferred to the Air Force. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years as a Master Sergeant. While serving in England he met and married, Doreen, and together they had three children, Steven, Debbie, and Jo Ann. The family traveled to many places around the world and across the United States through the duration of his military career.
After retiring he spent seven years in seminary, obtaining a Master's degree and becoming a pastor. He loved the Lord and sharing this love with others. He also loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Tommie and Alf Green; father, Thomas Deerdoff; sister, Evelyn Barnes; brothers, William Green, Edward Green and Duke Green; and son, Steven Steward.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Doreen Steward; daughters, Debbie Ives and husband Steve, and Jo Ann Call-Stewart and husband Scott; grandchildren, Jeremy Fisher, Brooke Lewis and husband Kevin, Jade Call and wife Kara, Jacob Call and fiancée Cassidy, Sydney Ives, Sean Ives, and Westley Seth Ross and wife Amanda; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruby Steward, Helen Chapdelaine, Madge Winch, Brenda Lence and husband David, Betty Kinney and husband Bill; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
