IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas
Smith
July 26, 1955 – June 3, 2025
Thomas David Smith, 69, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Tom was a man whose steady presence and generous heart touched many throughout his life.
Tom was born on July 26, 1955, in Farmington, Missouri, to Dewel and Betty Smith. He grew up in a close-knit family and carried the values of hard work and humility with him throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mark Smith, and his sister Sue Miller.
A lifelong resident of Missouri, Tom worked as a truck driver — a profession that suited his strong work ethic and quiet determination. Off the road, he found his greatest joys in life's simple pleasures: fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family. His love for the outdoors and adventure was only matched by his deep love for his family.
Tom's Christian faith was central to his life. A faithful member of the Assemblies of God, he served his church community by playing bass guitar during worship services — a role he cherished deeply and fulfilled with humble joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandi Smith; his children, Jennifer Crews--married to David Crews, Brian Smith, and Jason Smith--Married to Melissa Smith; and his grandchildren: Alicia Crews & Caleb Meyer (parents to Emma Crews), Jacob Crews (husband to Hannah Crews and father to Lincoln Crews), Haylea Crews, Madison Van Camp (wife to Zach Van Camp, and mother of Wesley), Parker Smith and Trinity Smith . Tom's legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love lives on through them.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held on June 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Bolivar First Assembly of God Church. All who knew him are welcome to attend and share in remembering his life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
