Thomas (Pops) Lee Johnson, age 80, passed away on August 12, 2017, in Cox South Hospital. He was born August 31, 1936, in Imboden, AR. He left school early to go work in the fields, moved to Springfield, MO in 1961, went to work for Springfield Canning Company and Hickory Hills Country Club where he retired after 35 years. He was a faithful member of Church of Christ for many years. He enjoyed working on cars, doing yard work and spending time with his family and friends, his favorite was sitting under the shade tree with his cousin and best friend, James Johnson, telling back in the day stories; who we'd like to give a special thanks.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bertha Johnson; son, Darrell Wayne Johnson; granddaughter, Shacona Jones; and sisters, Maggie, Mattie, Ninea and Georgia.
Survivors include sons, Tommie Joe Johnson and Anglish Ray (Kathryn) Johnson; daughter, Yoelanda (Derrell) Hicks; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 12 PM, Saturday, August 26, 2017, with services following directly at 12 PM, in the West and Lincoln Church of Christ, 2431 West Lincoln Street, Springfield, MO. Repass to follow the service at Boys and Girls Club, 835 W Calhoun, Springfield, MO. Burial will be on Monday, August 28, at 10:30 AM, Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield.
