Thomas D. Hartzell, 62, of Carterville, MO passed away July 4, 2019. He was born March 7, 1957, in Kettering, OH, and graduated from high school in Livingston, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Carolyn Hartzell.
Thomas liked to tinker with automobiles with his good friend Mark Jessing. They would sit together for hours trying to figure things out. He also enjoyed all military memorabilia especially the airplanes at the Dayton Air Force Museum. He visited the museum 3 years in a row.
Tom drove truck for about 3 years and liked to talk about the various things that he and his friend Kelly Jessing experienced while out on the road.
Until his cancer diagnosis, he worked at Stanley Transportation as a forklift operator. He was proud that he was able to get things in order. He would come home and brag about all that he accomplished that day.
Thomas is survived by his brother, Richard W Hartzell, his wife Annie and their son, Andrew, of Taiwan; his sister, Barbara Kettler and her husband Charlie and their children, Scott and his wife Liz, also son Robert Kettler and his wife Jenny Kettler of Oklahoma City, OK; 6 grandchildren; and Kristin and Adrian Carrasco; and his dogs, Buddy and Buttons, will miss him as well.
