Thomas Perry Anderson, Jr. was born in Springfield, Missouri on August 4, 1928, the 2nd of 4 children to Thomas Perry and Edith Ross Anderson. He attended Sunshine School, Jarret Junior High, and in 1946 graduated from Greenwood High School. In 1948, after completing a 2 year enlistment in the US Navy, he began studying accountancy at Washington University in St. Louis. In 1949 he married Jeanne Ann Saltsman of Springfield, also a 1946 graduate of Greenwood High School. He graduated from Washington University in 1952 and began working for Ernst and Ernst accounting firm in St. Louis. After 11 years with Ernst and Ernst, he moved to C.V. Mosby, a medical book publisher where he worked until he retired in 1983. He married Anna Jean Reid in 1975. Upon retirement he and his wife moved to Willow Park, Texas where they lived until returning to the Springfield, Mo area in 2013.

Thomas Perry Anderson, Jr. is predeceased by his sisters, Suzanne Palmer and Martha Branham, and his wives, Jeanne Ann and Anna Jean. He is survived by his three sons, Thomas P. Anderson, IV, John R. Anderson, and James T. Anderson, and their families. His only surviving sibling is Dorothy Sweaney of Springfield, Missouri. His remains are interred at Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
