Thelma "Nan Phipps 89, of Springfield and formerly of Aurora, died August 29, 2014, in her home. She was the daughter of Ralph and Edith Cook, born on September 23, 1924, in Escondido, California. She was married to Bill "Harold" Phipps and the mother of three surviving children, two daughters, Julie of Springfield, and Dabby Phipps of Seattle, Washington, and a son, Dean Phipps and wife Margie. She is the grandmother of five grandchildren, great-grandmother of nine and great-great-grandmother of two. Nan taught at the Aurora Christian Academy for several years. Nan was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., September 5, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Aurora. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Compassus of Springfield. Midwest Cremation Funeral Services of Springfield assisted with arrangements.
