Terry Lee Kerns left this earth to join the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 03:25 PM in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 69. He was born on February 20, 1944, in Springfield to Russell and Alice (Hopkins) Kerns. Terry was known by the name "Uncle Terry" by many family members and friends. Terry was a Christian who committed his life to Jesus Christ. He was blessed during his loving lifetime and will always be remembered for being generous, loving tenderly, and deeply caring for his family, friends and neighbors. Terry was a hard worker and enjoyed going to church and being around people. During his leisure time he loved to go fishing, hunting, and taking road trips out of town. He was very kind to people and whomever visited his home did not leave hungry. Terry enjoyed cooking and was a great cook who preferred to prepare the food himself. It was delicious. Yum! Yum! When you were ready to go he would pack to go food for you. Terry loved everyone and was loved by everyone he met as well. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Alice; son, Paul; brother, Richard; and sister, Donna. Terry is survived by his three children, two brothers, and one sister. Let's rejoice and praise the Lord for Terry s life. We will celebrate his joyful life with family and friends at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 20, 2013, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services. In Psalm 91:1 "those who live in the shelter of the most high will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty." May God rest his soul in eternal peace! AMEN!
