Tedye Lenore Thompson, 86, of Ozark, MO, passed away October 13, 2018. She was born June 7, 1932, in Seattle, WA, to Theodore and Lenore Hinckley.

Tedye was a lady gifted with many talents. She was highly skilled at work whether as a 2nd Lt RN in the Air Force, a homemaker helping rear three children, or as a nurse and administrator for the Visiting Nurses Assoc. At home she was a fantastic, self-taught chef in the kitchen--often whistling while she worked; a talented seamstress and knitter; the planner of every birthday and Christmas celebration; and a stickler for kindness and good manners.  Tedye touched many-a-life outside the home through her prolific correspondence, her beautiful soprano voice in choirs, and hosting wonderful Bridge parties and military functions. Even during Tedye's last three years at the Veterans Home, Tedye impacted all she met through her smiles and gentle grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her precious Aunt Esther. Tedye is survived by her husband John Paul Thompson; children, Douglas Paul Thompson and wife Cheryl, Janet Thompson and husband Michael, and Judye Fawver and husband Kevin; grandchildren John and Jenye (Ahrens) Thompson and Jason, Nicole, Travis, Christopher and Allison Fawver; and great-grandchildren Mack Thompson and Jedidiah Sheets (Ahrens); as well as many dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 10-11:30 AM, Monday, October 22, 2018, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W. Woodland St, Springfield, MO. Graveside services will follow at 2 PM in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors.
