Obituary

Ted Frederick Cornelison, 65, of Brighton, Missouri, passed away from kidney cancer on February 2, 2017 at home surrounded by his family and friends.

Ted and his twin brother, Ed, were born on March 22, 1951, in Springfield, Missouri ,to Sam and Lois (Kautz) Cornelison, the last two of eight children.

Ted had a love for baseball from the time he could hold one in his hand. He played ball throughout his school years in Republic, Missouri, where he graduated from in 1969. Ted and Ed were twins, best friends, and generally inseparable. Where one was you could usually find the other. Ed met and married Darra McClease and through that love, Ted met the love of his life, Darra's sister, Debbie McClease in 1970. They married on June 10, 1972. They had three children, John, Leslie, and Jesse.

Ted loved people and it showed in how he lived his life. He worked in the flooring industry for most of his life. For the last year however, he worked at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield. When he wasn't working hard, he kept busy doing many things. Having three children, he volunteered for years to coach various ball teams, teaching many how to play the sport that he so loved. He also loved spending time camping, fishing, and working on various projects with his brother or his wife. Some of his fondest memories were doing these things with family and friends.

Ted is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debbie; his children, John and his wife Shannon Cornelison of Dadeville, MO, Leslie and her husband Brad Johnston, of Buffalo, MO, and Jesse Cornelison and Jenna, of Springfield, MO; his grandchildren, Caleb and Anna Kate Johnston, and Chloe, Lilly, and Mady Cornelison; his sisters, Barbara Brown, of Republic, MO, and Darra Manuel, of Springfield, MO; his Mother-in-Law, LaVern McClease, of Springfield, MO; and Darra and Ed's children, Brad Cornelison and his wife Julie and their three daughters of Billings, MO, and Amy Jarman and her husband, Andrew, and their two daughters and son of Dadeville, MO, as well as, so many others who considered him a brother, uncle, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lois Cornelison; his sisters, Anita DuVall and Billie Manning; his brothers, Joe Cornelison, Bob Cornelison, William Cornelison, and his twin brother, Ed Cornelison.
