IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan
Hutchison
February 5, 1955 – January 21, 2024
Our beloved Susan Lynn Hutchison, 68, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21st, 2024. Susan was born to Alden Craig Hutchison and Jacqueline Nadine Hutchison on February 5th, 1955, in Springfield, Missouri.
From a young age, she was noticeably talented. She started playing violin at age five and would go on to play in the Springfield Symphony. Her father personally handcrafted a violin for her that she cherished as she developed her skill. She played the piano, mandolin, sang beautifully, and had the rare gift of perfect pitch.
Susan's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, compassion, and devotion. Susan attended Greenwood, Jarrett, Parkview and Glendale High School. Susan attended Drury College where she excelled in art classes. She graduated nursing school in 1994 and that was the beginning of her lifelong career as a registered nurse. She longed to help others and be a light in their time of sickness and need. Her presence illuminated the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family meant everything to Susan. As a young girl, she loved her grandmother's cooking and family weekends at the lake. She used her strength and tenacity to be a single mother to four girls, whom she referred to as her "Fun Four Pack". Car concerts with her daughters were some of her favorite times and shopping for treasures with her sister.
She was a beacon of love and guidance for her children, and a source of boundless joy for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Alden Hutchison and Jacqueline Hutchison. She is survived by her older sister; Mary Luanne Brumley (Larry), her younger brother; David Craig Hutchison (Lisa), her daughters; Aubrey Morrow, Shannon Adam, Laura Bode (Keith), and Jessica Morrow, and her grandchildren Bailey Adam, Brenden Adam (Kalynn), Jalen Adam, Weston Bode, and Lillian Bode, as well as nieces and nephews and their children.
Susan would also convince anyone she met, that her soulmate in life was her little, black and white spotted, mini–Dachshund Gracie. They went everywhere together, but only after Susan ensured that she was in the cutest of doggie outfits.
Susan found solace and comfort in her love of the Lord. Her faith sustained her through life's trials and triumphs, and she inspired others to always walk with courage, grace, and kindness towards everyone.
Susan's legacy of love will endure for generations to come. Though she may have bid farewell to this earthly realm, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by her gentle spirit and unconditional love. She is already deeply missed.
Arrangements for Susan's memorial have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, Missouri. A remembrance service and gathering to honor and celebrate her life will be held at Real Life Church, 3104 W. Division in Springfield, Missouri on Saturday, February 17th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
