Susan "Sue" Kay Petty, 64, from Springfield, MO, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

She was born on October 9, 1959, to Earl Madison and Marilyn Cureton in Kansas City, MO.

Sue is survived by her son, Sean Petty; her daughter, Jennifer Hollingsworth; one grandchild, Chance Hollingsworth; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Harold Predeaux; and her sisters; Melissa Nestlerode (Louise) and Rebecca Nestlerode (Becky).

Susan had a fondness for thunderstorms and cats. Although she was raised in Kansas City, MO, she spent the rest of her life in Springfield, MO. Known for her comforting words, she had a talent for making others feel better. Susan enjoyed dancing, despite her sister Becky's playful teasing about her lack of dancing skills. She had a knack for getting her siblings Louise and Becky into trouble if they didn't let her join in, creating cherished memories.

Susan often asked her brother Harold unanswerable questions, leading to humorous exchanges. She loved playing computer games and frequently spoke about her children and grandchildren.

Susan cherished the deep connection she had with her loved ones, spending hours chatting with her niece, Angie and sister, Becky on messenger.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Susan will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 1:00 at the Sertoma Building located at 1538 S. Enterprise Ave, Springfield, MO 65804.
