IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sue
Dodd
April 19, 1933 – November 17, 2023
Elizabeth Jean Dodd went home to be with the Lord on November 17th, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Borland.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ira (Jack) Dodd. She is also survived by Beth's husband Roy, their children Jeremy (Cho) and Briana & Selina. Brian (Jennifer) and their children Alexis, Benjamin, Aidan, Keara, Devin and one granddaughter. Melanie (Mike), Jim (Julia), Jeff (Cary), Tina (Mike), Tammy (Chris), and 7 grandchildren. Kevin (Teri) and their 10 children, 23 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Bush and brother, Danny Bailey (Bertie).
Sue was a faithful daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mom, grandmother and friend. She came from a large family of 12 and spent her early life on a farm in southeast Missouri. She had not traveled very much until she met and married Jack. That began a family adventure that spanned several states and countries and too many moves to count. The one constant through all the moves was her ability to make every place they lived a home. Sue was an avid reader, a lover of music and really enjoyed the challenge of daily crossword puzzles. Sue lived to take care of those she loved and was most comfortable when she could make others feel at home. Anyone that spent time at her home would often hear her talk about her "need to feed"; in fact, it was always an accomplishment if you could ever leave her house without eating something! Granny loved holding kids, reading them stories, singing them songs or making their favorite food.
Even when she reached a point in her life where all she could manage was a little talking, singing or eating, her parting words were always "let me know what I can do or if you need anything"
Our family is so thankful for all those who helped care for our mom. Special thanks to her Hospice Team, (Kari, Lana, Emily, Valarie, and Chaplin Mike) and to the staff at Magnolia Square.
We will miss her, but we celebrate her new and eternal life in the care of her timeless, perfect, all sufficient Savior.
