Willie "Sue" Bebout, 95, of Springfield, MO passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born January 22, 1930, to James "Drew" and Edna Shearer in Northwest, AR.

On January 22, 1953, Sue and Ralph Bebout were married. To this union two children were born.

Sue's joy in life was her family, friends and her work. She also enjoyed stamp collecting and genealogy.

Her survivors include her son, Jason Bebout. She was also survived by five grandchildren: Azizah Bebout, Drew Slaughter, Micah Slaughter, Joshua Bebout and Jacob Bebout; eight great-grandchildren: Zuri Bebout, Bishop Cochran, Tavolas Bebout, Syre Slaughter, Yosef Slaughter, Eliana Slaughter, Roeena Bebout and Lucy Bebout; and one great-great-grandchild: Ty Wade. Other survivors are one sister, Faye Shearer and a multitude of friends and relatives.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Ralph; her daughter, Lisa; and all but one of her brothers and sisters.

Sue was a resident of Springfield, Missouri but prior to that a long-time resident of Ava, Missouri where she retired from a position with the Ava public school system. Sue moved to Missouri in 1974 from Bakersfield, California. In her younger years, Sue was crowned "Miss Bakersfield" and also competed in the Miss California pageant.

Sue, per her wishes, will be buried at the Springfield Missouri Veterans Cemetary with her husband Ralph; Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 3:00pm.
