Stewart Kevin Hennigh passed away peacefully at his home in Springfield on March 22, 2022.
Kevin was born September 12, 1957, in Augusta, Georgia and lovingly raised in Springfield, Missouri by Charlotte Hennigh; his mother preceded him in death in 2015.
Kevin was a member of Second Baptist Church and graduated from Glendale High School. Having a strong work ethic, Kevin's first job at 14 years old was at The Bike Shop assembling bicycles. He then worked at Village Inn, Piccadilly, then French's, where he worked for over 20 years until back and neck surgeries forced him to retire early.
Kevin enjoyed mini-bikes (later motorcycles), riding horses and camping, spending time in Pittsburg with his large extended family, cooking and smoking meats (like a pro), watching football and basketball games and seeing live music around Springfield through the years (especially Fools Face and The Dog People). Music was a constant in Kevin's life and he enjoyed listening to it loudly.
Kevin is survived by a sister, Sherry Oberlin (and husband Bob), brother, Kurt, nephews, Tyler & Grant Oberlin, many cousins, aunts and uncles, treasured longtime loyal friends including Randy, Wayne, Dwight (R.I.P., Dwight), Lew, Matt and Justin, and his beloved furbaby girls, Blanca and Missy.
Kevin was loved and will be missed. A memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield, MO.
