Stephen Gregory Kirkham, 63, of Springfield, MO passed away October 24, 2014. He was born April 21, 1951, in Joplin, MO to Mark and Mildred Kirkham. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Maggie. He leaves behind two children, Stephenie Kirkham of Nevada and Alex Kirkham of Clinton; three grandsons, Tristin McRae, Donovan Kirkham, and Noah Kirkham of El Dorado Springs; his devoted, long-term partner, Tracy Cramer of Springfield; and his brother-in-law and two nephews, Joe, Mark, and Greg Norris of St. Louis. Though he traveled the world as a welder while living in Kansas City, he remained loyal to his hometown of Webb City throughout his life. Steve was the youngest city councilman in Webb City history and an elder in the Presbyterian Church. He worked for many years as a DJ for clubs and events, and in his later years worked for Prime, Inc. of Springfield. Steve was always up for float trips on the creek at Noel, watching the Cardinals play ball, telling jokes to anyone who would listen, and engaging in rousing discussions on politics, patriotism, or a well-mixed Gibson. He loved to make others smile and laugh.He was a dazzling, sweet, and vivid soul, who is, and will continue to be, missed by many friends and loved ones whose lives he has touched over the years. A celebration of Steve's life will be held from 2-5 PM, Sunday, November 16, 2014, in the Sahara Room of the Ramada Oasis Hotel, Springfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield.
