Obituary

Stephen Boschetti, 50, passed in Springfield, Missouri on September 20, 2026. He was a kind and loving person who always had an ear for a friend, a smile for a stranger, and a desire to help those he could. His smile, his sense of humor, and his kind heart will be remembered fondly by friends and family alike.

Stephen graduated high school in Napa, California. An adventurous spirit and a love for friends took him to Boulder, Colorado for several years before returning to Napa to join his father as a land surveyor. That was a career that he would enjoy for more than 20 years. During his father’s battle with prostate cancer, Stephen moved to Minnesota to be closer to family and embarked on a new career as a machinist. This career he continued after moving to Springfield to be with his sister and her family.

Stephen’s greatest passion was reggae music. An accomplished DJ, he was able to play his music for others at concerts and festivals on a custom sound system that he designed and built himself. He also loved to fish, enjoying trips back to California just to go out on the ocean with friends. His enthusiasm for custom knives and tools opened him up to an entirely new group of people with whom he shared many a laugh, a tear, and freely given hugs.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Dennis. He is survived by his mother Cheryl, his brother Aaron, sisters Sharon and Karen, sister-in-law Mary, nine nieces and nephews, many other extended family members, and countless friends who all loved him deeply and will remember the best of him and forever carry his memory in their heart.

Though he struggled for many years with an internal battle, he was the first to lend a hand or an ear to a friend. He is remembered by those who loved him as kind, funny, smart, and good natured. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
