On August 30th, 2026, our BEAUTIFUL Shelby Lynn Shanle left this Earth for another party way too soon. Shelby Lynn lived her life her own damn way; full of vibrant color, infectious laughter and the deepest devotion for those she loved.
Shelby blessed us with her arrival on November 21, 2000, in Springfield, Illinois as a free spirit, allergic to rules and deeply suspicious of authority. "Shubby" always had strong opinions and dramatic fashions. An impressive capacity for love, forgiveness, and POUR decisions.
The most theatrical, bold living old soul there ever will be. Shelby Lynn taught us that being good is NOT about being spotless. The longest ciggy smoker and worst old maid player to ever live. Her giggles combined with her perfect dimples made her completely infectious. An avid television connoisseur, "gardener" and couch potato. She lived for inappropriate sayings, language and conversations. Shelby Lynn was an enthusiastic reader and loved a good romantsy novel. What she wanted more than anything else was to become a mama to her own child.
Shelby Lynn was mother to three fur babies whom she adored Honky, Smokey and Hairy (her least favorite). She also rescued the Gecko her sister abandoned on her doorstep.
Shelby Lynn leaves behind a "cut from the same cloth" dad, Michael V. Shanle; her best mama ever, Lisa Shanle; her partner in crime/other half of her heart her sister, Kristian Michelle Shanle; her brother-in-law, Derek; and FAVORITE human ever her nephew, Waylon.
She is also outlived by her beloved family members, Grandma Patsy "Geem"; Grandma Kathy and Papa Mike; Papa Jimmy and Grandma Lori; her Aunt Bonnie "Mawmaw"; many aunts and uncles, cousins and the vast number of others she touched with her extraordinary presence on Earth.
She was preceded in death by her "Poppy"; Great Grandma; her favorite uncle, Walter; and her bestie soul dog, Hines.
To honor her extraordinary personality and memories a Celebration will be held at Samuel Cedars in Rogersville, Missouri on September 18th, 2026, starting at 6:00pm. Please join us for the evening following words of remembrance to share some food, drinks, music and your stories about Shelby Lynn.
She would say do not cry because I am gone, come have a drink... or ten and celebrate.
Let's all celebrate that we had the ultimate privilege of knowing the karaoke loving and fierce loving bad ass Shelby Lynn will always be.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
