Shawnda Maples, a loving kind-hearted mom, friend, sister, aunt and Mimi unexpectedly passed on August 28, 2022, in a tragic accident with her husband, Mark Maples.

Shawnda had many occupations in her life which ranged from the medical field to her most recent as the Manager of Dollar General. Of course, people who truly know her heart knew one of her most prized achievements were her children and grandchildren. Shawnda was married to Mark Maples on July 3, 1992. They had the most unique one-of-a-kind love that many may have not understood, but was undeniable. Shawnda loved to spend time with friends and had the kindest most gracious heart. Although she also had the "Marvel" temper, and everyone was well aware that her "good side" was where you wanted to stay.  Shawnda was free spirited with a wandering soul. Her home truly migrated wherever her heart was needed whether it be in Marionville, MO or Jay, OK. She was a proud member of Cherokee Nation and loved her Native American culture. Shawnda also loved her collections. She collected dolls, Betty Boop, or really anything she had any sentimental attachment to.

Shawnda's beauty lives on through her children, Coreydon Marvel and Shawn Maples; their spouses, Dominique Marvel and Shanay Maples; grandchildren, Avery, Bella, and Camri Maples and Jolene Marvel; sister, Athena Rholman; brother-in-law, David Rholman; nieces and nephews, Sheridan Rholman, Braden Rholman, Aaron Choate, Chad Choate and Kimber Choate.; as well as many others that may or may not have been biological family, but were loved all the same. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Marvel; father, Donnie Marvel; as well as her husband, Mark Maples.

Although our hearts may break today with this undeniable tragedy, please know she is at peace. Shawnda is looking down on all of us with her loving smile, wanting to hug everyone who shed one single tear. Saying "Suck it up Buttercup." Remember me with a smile, for my life was beautiful, full of love and cry no more.
