Shawn Douglas Westfall Sr, 65, of Mount Vernon, MO passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Shawn was born in Osceola, lowa on February 24th, 1961 to Robert and Mildred Westfall. Shawn moved to Mount Vernon, MO in 1986. On October 7th, 1989, Shawn married the love of his life, Leslie Smith. They spent a beautiful 37 years or marriage together building a lifetime of cherished moments. He leaves behind his beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his love, and memory in their hearts.

Shawn spent most of his life working as a culinary professional and took great pride in caring for those he served. Shawn loved anything to do with cars, especially tinkering with and fixing them. Many of his younger days were spent going to a drag racing track. He enjoyed going camping and being out on the lake with family. He was passionate about always having the best lawn in the neighborhood. Shawn was known for being a sharp dressed man and always carried himself with confidence. He was also known for his sense of humor and making everyone around him laugh. He never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with people wherever he went.

Shawn is survived by his wife of 37 years; Leslie Westfall, their six children; Kelli (Aaron) Bray of Mount Vernon, MO, Erica Chafin of Mount Vernon, MO, Shelli (Jarod) Fehring of Aurora, MO, Shawn "Douglas" Westfall Jr of Mount Vernon, MO, Stephanie (Jeremy) Reynolds of Stotts City, MO, and Dylan (Lynnsey) Westfall of Verona, MO. He is survived by his two brothers; David (Vicki) Westfall of Republic MO, Steve (Kristi) Westfall of Winfield, KS, and one sister Michelle (Jim) Jones of Mount Vernon, MO. Shawn is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mildred Westfall; mother-in-law, Mary Smith; two brothers; Ronald Westfall and Michael Westfall, one sister; Sharon Veach, and one niece; Brenda Harrall.

Throughout his battle with cancer, Shawn faced each challenge with courage and determination while surrounded by endless love and support of his family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Shawn's final resting place will be at IOOF Cemetery in Mount Vernon, MO.

Graveside service, Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 1 PM, IOOF Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Missouri.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
