Sharon J. Outhouse Obituary

Sharon J. Outhouse, 77, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 24, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  She was born on February 2, 1946, to Lily and Elwood Smith in Detroit, Michigan.

Sharon grew up in Columbus, Ohio, graduating from North High School in 1964.  She attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa for two years and then transferred to William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, graduating in 1968, with a bachelor's degree in teacher education.  She married Bill Outhouse in 1966 and balanced a career in teaching with the raising of three children.  She and Bill spent 57 wonderful years together. Sharon was a loving mother, a passionate teacher, and a doting grandmother.  She taught in the elementary grades for 30 years. After she retired, she became a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Chapter Laureate Alpha Mu in Bella Vista and served as their vice president for several years.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Lily and Elwood Smith, and by her brother, Donald.

Sharon is survived by her Husband, Bill, her three children, Allan, Ed, and Shelly, her three grandchildren, Tyler, Kiersten, and Amber, and by dozens of wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.  She will be missed by all.

There will be no public memorial service held.  Remembrances and condolences can be sent to the home in Bella Vista.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield.
