Sarah "Sally" Louise (Shively) Dyer, 80, of Nixa, MO, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016. She was born August 7, 1935, in Warrensburg, MO, to John and Joanne Shively. She was in the graduating class of '53 in Warrensburg and member of the Pi Kappa Sigma sorority from 1953-1955
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn Eubank; and brother, Jack Shively.
Sally is survived by her sister, Nancy Carter; daughter, Dana Duncan and husband Don; son, Robert Dyer Jr and wife Deborah; grandson, Robert A. Dyer and wife Betsy; great-grandchildren, Robert Jr, Brody and Charlie; and her beloved dog, Stanley.
She resided in Warrensburg, MO, for many years. Sally was a wonderful mother and homemaker, thus blessing her two children with a very happy childhood. She had many hobbies and interests which included going to auctions, playing bridge and being a master quilter. In 1995, she and her mother moved to the Ozarks. They enjoyed playing bridge at the Senior Center in Nixa, MO. She was a member of the Ozark Piece Makers Quilt Guild and traded antiques here in the area.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2016, from 2-4 PM, in the Ozark Community Center, Ozark, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local humane society or the animal shelter of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield, MO. Online condolences may be left at
