Obituary

Ruth Hope Murray-1922 to 2016 – 93 years young!

Ruth was Born in Blue Eye Mo and lived there until she joined the Women's Air Core (WAC) during WWII from 1944 to 1946. She married James F. Lewis in 1946 and had four children. Later in life she was re-married to Lawrence (Larry) Murray and moved to Shell Knob, MO, where she served in many local government positions.

Ruth was a fiercely independent woman that loved a challenge and adventure. She loved to hunt, fish, hike in the mountains, ride her motorcycle and give her opinion regularly on the local KWTO Talk Radio show…she became known to talk radio listeners as "Ruth from Shell Knob". She was a strong Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; and her parents, Lincoln and Margaret Stephenson of Blue Eye Mo.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Sue Nierman, Linda Lewis-Newberry, James McClelland Lewis, and Randall M Lewis; her grandchildren, Kimberly Pierce, Joshua Estrada and Ian Estrada, Tina Hildebrand, Melissa Polodna, Andrew, Quinnten, and Regan Lewis; and her great-grandchildren, Sammy, Cody, and Lona Bowman, Jordan, Tyler, and Dylan Hildebrand.

She went home to be with the Lord on Friday June 17th and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

We will have a small graveside service at the Blue Eye Cemetery, Wed June 22nd at 11am.
