Ruth Ann (Durden) Lacey, 74, of Springfield, MO, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, at Mercy Hospital surrounded by family. She was born in Springfield, MO, to Joseph "Cleo" and Flora (Phillips) Durden on July 8, 1949. Growing up Ruth was a member of Bellview Baptist Church and graduated from Central High School. Ruth was united in marriage to Donald Lacey at Selmore Christian Church.
Ruth lived for adventure and was always looking forward to her next road trip. Ruth loved searching for vintage treasures, traveling the country, attending car races, and decorating for every season.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Donald Lacey, son Kent Anderson (Juanita), Gary Lacey (Lisa), Terry Lacey (Diane), two brothers Phillip (Sue) Durden, John (June) Durden, grandchildren Ashley, Taylor, Trevor, J.T., Cali, Shauna, Andrea, Ashley, Justin, Chloe, and 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Cleo and Flora Durden, two brothers James (Rose) Durden, Stephen Durden, two sisters Becky Peck and Elizabeth Durden (infant), Larry Anderson, and her beloved dog Buddy.
Ruth requested no formal funeral service. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Mercy Hospital staff for their compassionate care.
Selmore Christian Church in Ozark is offering a gathering for family and friends to offer prayers and refreshments on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 6-8 pm.
