Ruth Helen Kater, 91, of Pleasant Hope, MO passed away Friday, October 17, 2025. She was born May 14, 1934, to Fred and Beatrice McLennan in Urbana, IL.

Ruth enjoyed making pocket crosses to share with others and she once sponsored a Christian Children's book.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Bernie Kater; her children, Bruce Kater and his wife Susan and Linda Kater; her fur grandchildren, Emily, Popeye, Edgar "Alan Poe" and Petey; her sister, Jane Whitmore; and other family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
