Ronnie Ralph Murray, 71, passed away in his home on October 24, 2021. Ronnie was born on December 20, 1949, to Ralph and Terry (Foster) Murray in Plattsmouth, NE.

Ronnie was an excellent student and was Valedictorian of his 1968 class. His grammar was impeccable. Until his memory began failing him, he seldom needed a dictionary. He was a very proud college graduate of what was then The University of MO at Rolla where he was a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity. He attended graduate school at University of Illinois for one year.

He moved to Miami, FL, in 1977 and lived there for 15 years. He often referred to those years as the best years of his life. He worked "enough to get by" and lived on the golf course. He practiced almost daily and his dream was to be on the professional golf tour, but he simply was not good enough. He was good enough to win 17 tournaments and made 11 hole-in-ones during his life.

He began watching football in 1957 and was watching football on the day he died. There was a time he could have told you who played and won every Super Bowl Game. He watched or listened to almost every Chiefs games since 1960. He was an accomplished juggler and loved to show off his talent.

He and his sister produce farmed and were proud members of the Greater Springfield Farmers Market for 20 years. The last few years were difficult for Ronnie as he struggled with Dementia.

Ronnie leaves behind his sister, Kathie Murray of Fair Play, MO; two cats, Tiger Paws and Mere Mere's that he dearly loved, and several distant relatives.

To honor his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no service or memorial. If you would like to honor his memory, play a round of golf, watch a Chief's game, or drink a cold beer.
