IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronnie L.
Johnson
September 1, 1946 – November 20, 2019
Ronnie L. ("Roundman") Johnson, 73, of Springfield, MO has left the building upon hearing "last call" from pancreatic cancer. He left this earth on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, peacefully in his home. Some of us think this was mostly due to his desire to avoid having to see Trump re-elected.
He was born on September 1, 1946 to Paul O. Johnson & Lois Maxine (Wade) Walker. He was raised in the Springfield/Nixa area, graduated from Glendale High School, and went on to work in residential construction and commercial real estate.
Ron was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers; Dan Walker and Terry Walker, other extended family members and many of his greatest friends from the "lake crew."
He is survived by his "Dad", Don Walker of Nixa, his partner in crime/best friend of 15+ years, Judy Davis of Springfield, his 3 daughters; Melissa Vander Syde (Jeff Vander Syde) of Colorado Springs (Surprise! For those of you who didn't know), Krista Johnson-Westfall (Harvey Westfall) of Springfield, and his favorite daughter, Scuttle-Butt Johnson (the dog) of his living room, kitchen, bathroom, basically anywhere he was. He is also survived by his granddaughter, half siblings, step-mother, nieces and nephews, as well as many other family members and friends. He also leaves behind a boatload of shit for his daughter, Krista, to deal with. Garage sale to follow.
Ron was never one for sentiment or religiosity, but if you find him in Heaven, we like to think he is with some of the greatest people any of us ever knew bellied up to a lakeside bar, with the Ozark Mountain Daredevils playing in the background. So upon your arrival seek him out, sit down, have a beer or a shot of Crown, and reminisce about the good ole' days.
Despite questions you might have, he wants to reassure you this is not another ploy to avoid creditors, bad business deals, ex-wives, or old girlfriends… He truly has snuck out the side door forever and he will always be missed.
A celebration of his life will be scheduled in the near future. For updates on plans, please request to join the "Ron ("Roundman") Johnson is Leaving the Building" Facebook Group as we will post details as they come available.
