Obituary
Ronald Lee Smith, 65, of Jefferson City and Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, in Springfield MO. His remains will be cremated and there will be no memorial service.
Ronald Lee Smith was born in St Louis, MO, to Richard and Martha Smith on July 12, 1951. He went to high school at Normandy Senior High School and graduated in 1969. He worked as a Movie Theater Projectionist for Whitesburg Theaters for many years and as a cook for numerous organizations including Fort Bellefontaine Correctional Facility for Boys in St Louis County.
He was involved in numerous charitable organizations, an active member of his church, Cornerstone 417, and also a Member of Toastmasters. He enjoyed ministering to Missouri State Penitentiary Inmates and was a strong advocate for the rights of those individuals dealing with and living with various handicap issues. He was an active member with Toastmasters and earned the DTM/Triple Crown award for his accomplishments.
Ronald Lee Smith was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Smith Sr; mother, Martha O. Smith; and sister, Pamela Sue Smith.
Ronald Lee Smith is survived by his wife, Glenda Smith of the home; three step-children, James (Pam) Tyndal, Amber Daniels and Anna Ward all of Springfield, MO; brother, Richard E. Smith JR of Ozark MO; and sister, Patricia Ann Garland of Forth Worth Texas.
