IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald
Sloan
May 24, 1940 – March 31, 2025
Ronald Lee Sloan, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior March 31, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Karen; parents, Ray Floyd and Ruth; brother, William and sister-in-law, Luella; sisters-in-law, Glory and Marlene; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Lily Koppin; brother-in-law, Richard; and sisters-in-law, Betty and Mary.
He is survived by his children, Tim (Jan) Sloan of Strafford, MO, Bryce Sloan unknown and Kim Eggermont of Kansas City, MO; his grandson, Dustin; his granddaughters, Kacie Counterman, Lacie Barrett and Jessica McPhail; 5 great grandsons; and many nephews and nieces. To know Ron was to love him.
Ron led a full life of travel, helping others and storytelling. He started his career in the armed services in Korea. After which he went to work for the city of Newton. It wasn't long before he and his wife, Karen, decided to try their hand at truck driving which allowed them to travel the country and visit new places. They eventually decided to invest in the wireless internet industry and were then able to retire to Buffalo, MO. Days were spent tinkering on equipment and enjoying the simple life on their small farm. One thing is for sure, he was always willing to lend a helping hand and tell tall tales.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to Ron's sitter, Pam Smith and Integrity Hospice for the excellent care that he received; with a special thank you to Alison and Teresa for going above and beyond for the family during this difficult time.
