Rodney Dean Roberts passed away Sunday, February 25th, 2024, in his home in Springfield, MO. He was born on March 19, 1969, to Garland Dean Roberts and Virginia "Sue" Jobe in Bolivar, MO.
He was raised in church and was saved at 14 years old at True Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. He was a graduate of Parkview High School in 1987 and then went on to work at Red Monkey Foods for a few years and then worked as a truck driver for The Missouri Council of the Blind for many years as well.
He was a huge fan of the KC Chiefs and enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend Crystal Blankenship. The last couple of years he had been attending Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield and really loved it there. Rodney found happiness in doing different social activities with his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Garland Roberts and his mom, Virginia "Sue" Jobe; maternal grandparents, "Ted" Edge and Walter J. Buresh; and paternal grandparents, Claude and Golden Roberts.
He is survived by two children, a son, Cody Shackleford of Springfield, MO and a daughter, Ellie Roberts of Oklahoma; a brother, Todd Roberts and wife Lori of Forsyth, MO and a sister, Jennifer Stoner and husband Larry of Rogersville, MO; one grandson, Layne Shackleford; and nieces and nephews, Tanner Roberts, Hanna Stoner, Lauren Stoner, and Logan Stoner. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Crystal Blankenship; as well as many friends. He will be missed.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5th at 10:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 2210 W. Republic Rd, Springfield, MO. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bolivar, MO.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, LLC of Springfield, MO.
