Robert Wayne “Bob” Nooe, born October 30, 1959, in Lexington, KY, went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2026. Bob lived in Clever, Missouri with his beloved wife and family, and found great joy as a husband, a father, and a “Bob-Bob” to his granddaughters.
Bob wrestled with spinal issues for much of his life and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2010 (at the age of 50). Despite numerous surgeries and physical challenges, Bob maintained a good humor, a joyous attitude, and shared the love of his Savior with all who would listen.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lu Anne Nooe; his son, Austin Nooe; his daughter, Katie Keeney, and her husband Rob Keeney; and his cherished grandchildren, Izzie, Ellie, and Junie Keeney. He is also survived by his sisters, Karen Nooe Dedmon and her husband, Scott Dedmon, and Pam Jones Munday and her husband, Ken Munday, Sister-in-law Linda Jones, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, former students, and church families whose lives he touched over the years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Jones, his mother, Maurine Cobb Nooe Jones; his father, William Morgan Nooe (who passed when Bob was a baby); and his dad, Jesse Richard “J.R.” Jones.
For three decades, Bob faithfully served as a children’s pastor in the Nazarene denomination, dedicating his life to guiding and encouraging young people in their faith in Jesus Christ. While serving in ministry, he earned master's degrees in both Christian Education and Play Therapy. He then spent ten years serving as a school counselor with Wichita Public Schools, where he continued to invest in the lives of children and families with compassion, wisdom, and care.
Bob was an avid sports fan who especially loved the Texas Longhorns, Kentucky Wildcats, baseball, college basketball, and college football. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or spending time with family, he found joy in the simple moments shared with the people he loved most. He also deeply loved his Sunday School class at The Springs Church and treasured the friendships, fellowship, and faith they shared together.
His family will remember him for his faith, his love and kindness, his quick wit and quirky humor, and the countless lives he impacted through ministry, counseling, and personal relationships.
A Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2026, at The Springs Church.
