Obituary

Raymond E. Collison, 86, of Nixa, MO, passed away August 12, 2020. He was born December 8, 1933, in Seymour, MO, to Jack and Edna Denny Collison.

Raymond proudly served in the United States Army. He could be found driving the Colonel around the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. After the Army, he moved to Northern California where he fell in love with his wife Sallie.

He was an avid golfer, fishermen, and hunter. He was a member of the Mens Elks Club in Carmel, CA,  and often played golf with some of its famous members up and down the peninsula. After moving back to Missouri, the Collison brothers were still no strangers to the golf courses. Every year they would play the Oran Denny Classic Tournament at one of their favorite places, Silers, in memory of their Uncle Oran.

Raymond also was a avid fisherman, he and his brothers enjoyed many hours fishing together, having big fish frys, and telling stories. He later learned to fly fish and tied his own flys. He spent many hours on the banks of the Missouri River.

Raymond retired from Kraft after many years of employment. He wore many hats and received several rewards for his dedication and service.

After retiring he and his wife and their beloved doxi max traveled to many states ray loved collecting marbles, later he become a dealer and many new his name as some one who they could trust apprising marbles, he could tell you any thing you wanted to know and over many years made a lot of friends in the marble community

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie O. Collison; parents, Jack and Edna; brothers, Norman, Roy, Dan and Bill Collison; granddaughter, Heather A  Anthony.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Rebecca L. Anthony and Deborah M. Sullivan; grandchildren, Paige M. Bliss, Cami M. Bolan, Harmony J. Anthony, Levi W.E. Anthony, and Sarah E. Anthony; great-grandchildren, Laine, Grant, Camron, Connar, Jacob, Lenora and Jaden; siblings, John Collison and Neta Stapp; his  nieces, Sallie Lynn held a special place in his heart as well as his dear friend, Sunny Pursley of Big Sur. Along with countless others.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

The family would like to ask in lieu of flowers, that when you can do a small act of kindness for someone. He would always say… it's not who you are in life, but how you are that mattered.

Services will be held at 3 PM, Friday, August 21st, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors .
