Randolf Michael McFail, 69, of Republic, MO. Went to be in the loving arms of his Savior August 09, 2023. He was home surrounded by his loving family. He had battled cancer since 2011 and his heart could no longer make it. Even when he was not feeling the best, he gave 100% to everything. He fought a good fight.
He was born September 8, 1953, in East Moline, IL. The son of Harlan and Josephine McFail. He married the love of his life, Linda McLain on July 4th, 1974, in Hazelwood, MO. He and Linda had two wonderful and amazing sons, Matthew Joseph and Jeremy Michael.
Matt married Laura Crow in May 2002. Jeremy married Kendra Schuler in August 2002. He finally got "his" girls and loved them as much as his sons. Randy was blessed with four grandchildren, Ryan, Ethan, Lindsay and Riley whom he loved very much.
Randy worked at several shoe stores, then sold appliances before becoming an over the road truck driver for 12 years. He decided to find a job where he could be home more often. He drove for Fed Ex Freightways for 25 years before retiring. He loved to be out on the open roads and after retiring he loved to make road trips with his sons. His all-time favorite trip was a cruise to Alaska with family. He loved all the states but especially loved Colorado.
He loved to work in his yard and garden and spend time at the burn barrel where he could find peace and joy. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, laughing and joking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents, Joseph and Ellen Gabbert who he thought of as his second parents- he spent so much time with them. Grandparents Harlan and MaryAnn McFail, many aunts and uncles
He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Matthew (Laura) McFail, Jeremy (Kendra) McFail, grandchildren Ryan, Ethan Lindsay, and Riley, in-laws Burdette (Matilda) McLain, sister-in-law Teresa (George) Krieg, brother- in- law Dan (Janet) McLain, David (Ruthie) McLain, sisters Constance (Albert) Toney, Karen (Craig) Mason, brother Christopher McFail and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
He attended Hillside Baptist Church in recent years after moving to Republic. He loved his church family. A memorial service will be at his church-8366 MO-266 Springfield, MO 65802 on August 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Reverand John Bingham officiating.
