IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pj
Cobb
June 16, 1950 – May 18, 2024
Celebrating the life of PJ (Phyllis Jean) Cobb 1950-2024
PJ Cobb sadly and unexpectedly departed this life on Saturday May 18th, 2024, at Cox hospital. PJ was 73 years 11 months and 2 days young.
PJ was born in Piggot Arkansas on June 16th, 1950. Her tender years were a troubled time for her birth family. At a young age, PJ and her sister Jan were adopted by John and Lucy Deronda (Batson) Ricks where they were raised in a loving home.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Ricks; sister, Jan; and nearly all her birth siblings.
PJ is survived by her husband, James E Cobb of the home; Lucy Deronda Ricks (mother) of Springfield Missouri; four children, Shawn Ricks and wife Dawn of Niangua Missouri, Kathy Rohrer of Willard Missouri, Teri Cobb and Ron Stokes of Willard Missouri, and Jason Cobb also of Willard Missouri; grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Deanna and Bryan Green, Allie and Wyatt, Brittany and Allen Davis, Lane and Aubree, Aaron Ricks, a baby girl expected in September, Devin Johnson, Justin and Chantel Cobb, Tyler and Bailey Cobb, Avery and Taelynn, Kelsey and Aly Chiarello, and Alaina.
PJ spent most of her working years in non-traditional trades, construction, interior finishing, landscaping and cleaning. She was a strong independent woman who took pride in her accomplishments.
PJ Cobb was fun-loving with a larger-than-life personality. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and caring friend. Her passing was much too soon, but she left an imprint on the hearts of those who love her by creating a lifetime of memories and moments that will be cherished by family and friends forever. PJ will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
As she requested, there will not be a memorial service, the family is planning a private celebration of life at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
