Peter Kent Darling, 67, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Cox Medical Center after a short illness. He was born January 3, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa and adopted by Glenn and Gertrude Darling. He was married to Linda Ann Rensink Darling on November 24, 1971 in Lime Springs, Iowa. During his career he spent many years at the News-Leader in Springfield as a computer technician. He was proud to serve his country in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his sons, Kent Peter Darling of Springfield and Brent Scott Darling of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughters, Sarah Jane Darling and Jennifer Jane Darling. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jon David Darling. A Military Service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation & Funeral Services, Springfield.
