February 8, 1936 – July 31, 2018
Pauline Marie Gaddis, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 11:20 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in the Hopedale Cottage Assisted Living Facility in the presence of her loving family. Pauline was born on February 8, 1936, to the late Fred and Edna (Ferran) Beasley.
She graduated high school in 1954 from Parsons, KS. She also attended Jr. College in Parsons, KS. She moved to Springfield in 1964 and soon after started working with The Frisco Railroad as a secretary. She met her future husband John "Coach" Gaddis while he was coaching at what was known then as Evangel College and now Evangel University, through some friends as a blind date shortly after moving to Springfield. She continued to work for the Railroad and as the years went on she was promoted up the ranks. In 1980, The Frisco Railroad merged with the Burlington Northern Railroad and by this time she had advanced to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of the Mid-West Region Railroad Police and Special Services. She continued to hold that position until her retirement in 1987. After her retirement from the Railroad, she worked with and or assisted her husband as self-employed business owners with Topp Med, Inc. and Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. until his death in 2016.
She was very fond of the Lake and loved boating and waterskiing. She spent many hours skiing on Table Rock Lake and relaxing at a place known as "Sand Beach" with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Melvin Beasley; and husband John "Coach" Gaddis.
Survivors include sons, Curtis D. Gaddis of Ozark and Mike W. Gaddis of Springfield; daughters, Mitzi L. Hubbard of Nixa and Sheri J. Jordon of Springfield; grandchildren, Hallie E. Gaddis of Ozark, Jennifer Pearson and husband John of Dunnegan, Becci Hubbard of Springfield, Summer Brooks and husband Brandon of Ozark, Sami Hill of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Alexis Pearson and Colton Pearson both of Dunnegan, Sklyn Hill and Logan Hill both of Springfield, Isabella Dale and Harper Dale both of Ozark, Bentley Dale of Nixa, and Ezra Dale of Ozark; nephew, Neal and Pam Beasley; and nieces, Kathy and Sam Lenati, Melody and Glenn DePoy, Susan and Floyd Houdyshell, Shannan and Todd Newberry, Heather Carlisle, and Amber and Tony Grant.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, August 7, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W. Woodland St, Springfield, MO. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in the Chaple at Klingner Cope Rivermonte Memorial Gardens with Pastor Obie Harrup officiating.
