Obituary
Paula was born December 11, 1949, in Springfield, Missouri to Paul Gene Payne and Virginia Bell Payne (Henderson). She entered her heavenly home on July 14, 2022, at the age of 72 years and 7 months. Six months to the day after losing her husband.
Paula was born and raised in Springfield. She married her best friend Larry Wayne Shelton in 1966. Together, they raised four children. Cindi Kilmer (Dwight) Willard; Lisa Dills (Curt), Springfield; Tami Shelton, Springfield; and Larry Paul Shelton, Springfield. They were blessed with 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends through the years. Paula loved her little dogs. Her special companion, Fancy, never left her side.
Paula worked beside Larry for many years in their automotive business in Springfield. Her full-time job was as a homemaker, caregiver, and friend. She had a positive impact on so many lives and loved unconditionally, always seeing the good in people.
Paula will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. She is finally home, with so
many loved ones who have been waiting for her. We rejoice in the assurance that we will see
her again someday. Until then…
Mom, we love you. We will miss you, and we will strive every day to be a fighter, and show
unconditional love just as you have done all your life. We are eternally grateful.
