Obituary

PAUL T PIERCE , son of John Norris and Monta Agnes Pierce was born on February 10, 1935 at his Grandma Anna Turner's house in Blackfoot, Missouri, and departed this life on October 15, 2020, in his home surrounded by loved ones in Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years.

Paul was the youngest of eight children.  He graduated from Liberty Grade School.

On December 27, 1959 he married Paula A. Schnell. To this union were born 5 children.

Paul started working at the young age of thirteen. Over the years he had many jobs which included, helping build  a racetrack, Hudson and Oliver Tractor Dealership and Appliance Store, Rice Stix  Jeans Factory, Beech Aircraft and the Rough Rider pant Factory. In 1953 he moved to Joliet, Illinois and worked at the Joliet Arsenal Plant. While working there, he was also learning the automotive trade in Kankakee, Illinois, and decided to move there. From 1959-81 he owned several automotive businesses in the Kankakee, Bradley or Bourbonnais area. In 1981, he moved to Phillipsburg to the house his parents had owned. He worked at the Ford Dealership Garage in Marshfield, then opened an automotive and small engine repair business at their home.

If you knew Paul, you knew of his love for Auctions and Ice cream. And if you ever needed a tool for anything, you knew Paul probably had two!!

He leaves to mourn his passing, wife Paula of the home, sister Melba Stussey of Tacoma, Washington. Daughters Kathleen Slack and husband Dave of Marysville, Washington. Debora Dunsworth of Vancouver, Washington. Brenda Brady and husband Milton of Seattle, Washington. Lesa Simmons and husband Scot of Conway, Missouri; seven grandchildren. Joshua Slack, Alexander Jackson, Danielle Howard and husband Christopher, Dillon Dunsworth, Britany Simmons, Blake Simmons and wife Aubrey,  and Heidi Pierce; two great granddaughters Samantha Slack and Harper Simmons.

Paul was also preceded in death by his parents, his son, Kevin Pierce, his granddaughter  Lauren Hopson, his sisters, Loreta Wade, Kathleen Prouty, Audra Wagner,  Barbara Joann Eddy, his brothers John and James Pierce.

Paul had the gift for gab, and loved to visit on many topics. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in the Phillipsburg Christian Church, Phillipsburg, MO.
